My name is Lucy Shipley and I write about three things. Firstly, dead people. Really dead people. I'm an archaeologist, a specialist in pre-Roman Italy. I also write about our relationships with dead people: the way us 21st century lot write, film and think about past people all over the world. Finally, I write about the experience of being an archaeologist. A woman. A mother. The intersection of those three things. The problems they cause. The joys they give.
